Beginning teachers face a host of concerns as they begin their careers. As a teacher educator, I was interested in the discovering the curricular concerns that beginning teachers face during their first year of teaching, such as those involving planning, materials, standards, and support. This study focused on the specific curriculum concerns encountered by early childhood teachers who graduated from the same university in southwest Missouri. The concerns of beginning teachers were discovered through personal interviews, analysis of journal entries and artifacts related to curriculum planning and support. The findings from this study include concerns related to feeling lost with curriculum, alignment, meeting students' individual needs, concerns related to time.
