Awareness — Colorectal Cancer
March is colorectal cancer awareness month.
Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of death from cancer in Canada. A family history of
colorectal cancer and/or being diagnosed with Crohn’s disease or colitis can increase your risk of developing colorectal cancer.

Toilet Paper Flowers Campaign — Focus on Youth
In November 2007, The 3C Foundation of Canada partnered with the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) and the
Federal Minister of Health to launch the Toilet Paper Flowers Campaign at a local elementary school. Following the
successful launch of the awareness campaign, copies of the children's book about living with Crohn's disease, Toilet
Paper Flowers, were distributed to 167 Ottawa area elementary schools.
The 3C Foundation of Canada is pleased to announce the successful expansion of this project in 2010 which included
all local public libraries and CHEO. The 3C Foundation of Canada believes that the Toilet Paper
Flowers Campaign is an important source of support for children with Inflammatory Bowel Disease, and will
not only raise awareness about Inflammatory Bowel Disease, but will help young people change the way they
think about some of the embarrassing symptoms that accompany Crohn's disease and colitis.
